Should you be concerned about your veins?

Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms:

 Leg pain, aching, or fatigue

 Cramps or throbbing

 Non-healing sores on the leg

Swelling of the legs and ankles

 Varicose or spider veins

Burning or itching on the legs

Did you answer yes to any of the above? If so, you may be at risk or already be suffering from chronic venous insufficiency.

Venous insufficiency can develop into more serious conditions if left untreated. It should get treated by a certified and trained physician. Call (915) 529-0858 to schedule your free vein screening with vein specialist Dr. S. Gerges in El Paso.

Get to the root of the problem

Free yourself from pain and discomfort

Leg pain can be caused by varicose veins and is often associated with diabetes and arterial disease. I-Vascular Center is the top provider specializing in varicose veins treatment. Our treatments are covered by most insurance plans.

When the valves in your legs are not working properly, they begin to block your natural blood flow. This is called venous insufficiency, and, in most cases, the failure is because the valves no longer work in a one-way fashion.

Prolonged and untreated venous insufficiency may result in the skin changes that result in ugly legs. The skin texture can become firmer, less fleshy feeling and will have poor healing qualities. As this disease, progresses, the skin may break down and develop an open skin ulcer or sore.

We believe in curing the root problem, vein disease, not just managing its symptoms. Old treatment methods are putting a huge burden on our nation’s economy and causing patients unnecessary suffering. We have the power to make an incredible shift in healthcare, and that is exactly what we are going to do.

"Had I known the procedure was so quick and painless I probably would have taken care of the problem much sooner. Not worrying about both the pain and appearance of varicose veins has been a major confidence booster!"

Frequently asked questions

What to expect

You’ll complete a brief one-page questionnaire about your medical history. If you’re wearing pants, we’ll provide you a pair of disposable shorts to change into. One of our board-certified vascular surgeons will examine your legs and ask you a few simple questions. The physician will determine if you’re a candidate for further vein testing or if another treatment option (e.g., compression stockings) would be appropriate.

Why have a vein screening

Varicose veins are often a sign of a more serious condition that can worsen if not treated properly. A quick varicose vein screening can help us understand why your bulging veins developed, and guide us in choosing the best treatment option for your specific needs.

Does insurance cover it

The screening is free, and then the treatment is covered by most insurance plans. During your screening, our billing department will check your insurance coverage.

To view a list of accepted insurances please visit the Insurance Information page or call us at (915) 529-0858.

What is the difference between spider veins and varicose veins

Spider veins are small red, blue or purple blood vessels on the surface of the skin. Varicose veins are abnormal veins that have become swollen, enlarged and ropey. Varicose veins are usually a result of defective valves inside the vein. This condition is known as venous insufficiency. Together, spider veins and bulging varicose veins comprise the most common circulatory problem of the lower extremities. It is estimated that spider veins and varicose veins affect 80 million people in the United States.
